Your privacy on our website
When you send a website enquiry, AFG AUTO PTY LTD receives your name, phone number or email, messages, enquiry topic and the page you enquired from. We use this information to answer your questions and follow up about the vehicle or service you requested.
Website conversations
Messages are stored in our website’s hosted database and are accessible to the authorised business owner. Your browser stores a private conversation key so you can return and see replies on the same browser. Anyone using that browser profile may be able to view the conversation. Clearing browser data removes that access from your device, but does not delete the messages held by the business.
Replies appear on the website. Website chat does not send automatic SMS or email notifications. Please leave a contact method we can use if you close the page.
Protecting the inbox
The website uses a daily one-way hash of the network address to limit spam submissions. These rate-limit records expire after one day and are cleared during subsequent submissions. Hosting providers may also process technical logs to operate and secure the website.
Optional visitor statistics
With your permission, we collect counts of page views, visits, vehicle searches, budget-filter uses, message opens, share clicks and clicks on our telephone, email and directions links. We also measure loading, responsiveness and layout stability in supported browsers. Statistics do not include message text, form contents, search terms, contact details, full referrer URLs or raw network addresses.
A random session identifier is stored in this browser tab and rotates after 30 minutes of inactivity. We group activity by the page, broad source channel, device class, approximate country and short campaign codes. The server stores a one-way session hash that changes each month. We do not use these records for advertising or to identify you across websites.
Your preference is remembered on this device. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals, and enquiries work whether or not you allow statistics.
Individual session and event-deduplication records, and daily counts, are cleared after about 90 days as new activity arrives. Monthly aggregate counts are retained for about 13 months. These records are held in the website’s hosted database and the authorised owner can view aggregate reports.
Separately, we count successfully saved enquiries to understand the requests received by the business. If you allow statistics, an enquiry may be associated with its measured source channel and campaign; otherwise it is counted without visitor-source attribution. This does not change how the business handles your enquiry.
