AFG AUTO · BUYER GUIDE
Buying a used car on the Gold Coast
A useful shortlist starts with what you need from the car. Here’s how to compare our vehicles, ask the right questions and arrange your next step with the team in Labrador.
1. Match the car to everyday life
Think about your usual passengers, luggage, parking space and weekly driving. Compare the price with the kilometres, transmission and features of each vehicle. Include insurance, fuel and servicing in your ongoing budget.
Our adverts show the car’s own photos and details. Open the photo gallery to look more closely, and send us the vehicle link when you enquire so we can answer questions about the right car.
2. Read the vehicle’s history and inclusions
Review the recorded history section as well as the description. Where a vehicle has recorded written-off history, that is disclosed on its advert. Ask about the history and available information before deciding whether the vehicle suits you.
Our publishing policy is to advertise written-off vehicles only after they have passed WOVI. WOVI and a roadworthy inspection serve different purposes; the Queensland Government explains the inspection requirements for repairable write-offs. You can also use the official PPSR to check for registered security interests and reported stolen or written-off status using the vehicle’s VIN.

AFG Auto cars are sold with registration, a roadworthy certificate and warranty. Confirm the registration expiry and the specific warranty terms, coverage, limits and exclusions for the vehicle you choose. These details matter more than a general promise.
3. Arrange a viewing and ask your questions
Use the message button on the advert and include your preferred day and time. Our team will confirm the appointment before you travel to 2/9 Harley St, Labrador.
Check the seating position, passenger and boot space, controls and features that matter to you. Discuss a test drive and any independent inspection you would like to arrange with the team beforehand. Bring your questions about servicing, condition and the vehicle’s history.
Arrange a viewing4. Confirm the details before proceeding
Ask the team to confirm the total purchase price, inclusions, paperwork and handover arrangements. If you’re trading in a car, discuss its agreed value separately so the overall changeover is clear.
For a trade-in or cash offer, send the make, model, year, kilometres and condition, then email photos. If you are buying from interstate, send your destination suburb and postcode and ask for a transport quote. Confirm timing, cost and any destination registration requirements before you commit.
